Celebratory balloons adorned the outside of the facility at 1820 De la Vina St. as Oak Cottage residents and employees received their first shots of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine on Friday.
“Our residents and our staff are champions,” Executive Director Andrea Katz said. “We have gotten this far, and now we will be able to persevere through COVID as we have been.”
Oak Cottage partnered with CVS Omnicare to vaccinate its residents and approximately 20 staff members, including Goleta resident Carlos Rodezno, who works as a cook at the facility. He said he was happy to receive his COVID-19 vaccine.
